Casino chips have been made from a wide range of materials in an almost infinite assortment of variations since the birth of gambling and the need to track winnings. The most common components used at this time in the creation of modern poker chips are plastic, clay composite, and acrylic composite. Clay chips, the primary of the bunch, have been manufactured in the US since the late 19th century.
Back in the 19th century, poker enthusiasts appear to be using any tiny item with value imaginable. Early poker players sometimes employed rough gold pieces along with chips – mainly made of wood and clay. By the 1900s, poker chip designs began to employ a bigger prominence, and the smooth sides of older chips gave way to chips with ridges to hold them neatly piled up together.
There is no debate that poker has expanded steadily in acceptance since its beginnings in the 1800s. With the huge increase of web gaming and unique television shows, community interest in poker has accelerated faster than ever before. Most folks are initially introduced to poker by TV showslike "Celebrity Poker" or the Travel Channel’s "World Poker Tour," and most will play their initial hands on the net. Despite web poker’s growth, nothing replaces the feeling of mixing heavy clay poker chips in your hands, tossing chips into the center of a casino table, or creating high pilesstacks of chips after showing a victorious hand.
