No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer was born into in a family of 5 in which he enjoyed betting on numerous card games when he was young. He found himself getting very competitive in the above-mentioned card games while competing against his dad. After graduating from secondary school, Howard decided to put higher education on hold for a little while and moved away to New York to compete in some serious chess. While playing chess, he was introduced to a poker game going on in the back of the room. Howard’s first 2 years were rough as he played many hours and do not win a majority of the time. He made some additional cash by becoming an runner for the poker enthusiasts. He believed he might boost his game by adjusting his life away from poker. He made an attempt to acquire more sleep and focus even more on the game.

The real advancement in his game happened when he began playing at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the the most favorable players would often compete against each other. Howard was able to access several of the best minds in chess. With their assistance, Howard Lederer would sharpen his strategic thinking skills. Howard applied these strategic ideas to the game of No-Limit Texas Holdem.

He also helped his sibling Annie Duke master the game of poker. Annie Duke was a great student of poker as she constantly asked questions about how to make the correct decision. He told Annie to move out to Sin City and compete in the WSOP tournaments. She is one of the greatest women players the poker world today. He moved to Sin City in 1993 and played money games for the next decade. When the WPT gained popularity, he decided to compete in more tournaments.
