A Couple of of Poker’s Charming Players

Beyond a doubt millions and millions of people want to be the next "star" in poker, but here is a short rundown on four of the more well known "great guys" of poker. Even though "nice" is associated with their names when you are facing them it’s "no more Mr. Nice guy" up until they have put you out of the game!

Daniel Negreanu

In 2004, his tourney earnings added up to more than $4.4 million and he won 2 immensely respected awards in the WSOP Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Tournament Player of the Year. In Feb Two Thousand and Six he was named Card Player’s Preferred Poker Player. He still has the decency to speak with his admirers about how they can improve their own game.

Howard Lederer

Referred to as "The Professor" and sibling of fellow poker professional Annie Duke. His success has allowed him to make an educational video called "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and also holding a tournament poker show for Fox TV. As of 2005, his total life winnings surpass $2.7 million.

Scotty Nguyen

Scott is 1 of the busiest players in professional poker and between Two Thousand to Two Thousand and Four he finished in the money in more than 100 competitions. He is notorious for saying "yeah baby" during poker games and also credited with the term "that’s poker baby" when referring to a particularly bad beat. As of Two Thousand and Six, his life time earnings are almost 6 million dollars.

Chris Ferguson

Chris has captured 5 WSOP titles with two of his successes coming in 2003. Has the alias "Jesus" as a result of his characteristic long hair and beard, along with his ability to throw cards quick enough to cut through bananas and pickles. As of 2005 his total live poker tourney earnings exceeded 5 million dollars.
