Internet Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only player to achieve closing poker table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a massive pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the best players in the world. While gambling on internet poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. Gus frequently participates in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of $40, 000. Hansen generally buys in for the min of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then goes all in. I accept that Gus is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is bankrupt, he has little or no reason to settle at the game with the min buy in.

Playing for the min takes a majority of the expertise out of big stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be one of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy in for the total amount. I think television can skew our perception of the real world at times. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world might just be guys you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be seen gambling on internet poker on Full Tilt. He normally plays in big stakes Omaha and texas hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in money rounds?
