Caribbean Poker Codes and Tricks

Internet poker has become world acclaimed as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its television scores. Over the years several variations on the original poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling blackjack than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the casino instead of the other players. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little conniving or different types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up before the croupier broadcasting "No further wagers." At that point, both you and the bank and of course all of the other gamblers attain 5 cards. Once you have seen your hand and the dealer’s first card, you have to in turn make a call wager or bow out. The call wager’s value is akin to your beginning ante, meaning that the stakes will have doubled. Surrendering means that your bet goes directly to the bank. After the wager is the showdown. If the bank doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, including a figure on par with the initial bet. If the bank has a hand with ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand beats the dealer’s hand. The bank pays out chips equal to your ante and controlled expectations on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
