No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker player in the world by most of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching turning 1. His papa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wished to discover everything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the detrimental comments from others kill his dream of being one of the best poker competitors in the world.

Phil began competing seriously after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a learning period and winning was not a common outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he defeated many of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his success to discipline and an undying passion for poker. Phil states that he is learning every single day and is quite humble about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making errors in each game of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Even though Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he likes winning money games on a normal basis.
