No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer lived in a family of five where he loved gambling on different card games at a young age. He discovered himself getting really aggressive in these particular card games while playing his father. After graduating from Sr. High school, Howard made a decision to place college on hold for a little bit and relocated to New York City to play some serious chess. While participating in chess, he was brought in to a poker game taking place in the back of the room. Howard’s first two years were tough as he would play countless hours and lost most times. He made some additional money by being an assistant for the poker players. He believed he could better his game by balancing his life outside of poker. He made an attempt to get more sleep and concentrate even more on the game.

The definite advancement in his skills began when he started betting at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the greatest gamblers would often challenge each other. Howard was able to access several of the best minds in chess. With their assistance, he would hone his strategic thinking skills. Howard applied these strategy ideas to the game of No-Limit Texas Holdem.

Howard Lederer also assisted his sister Annie Duke master the game of poker. She was a superb student of poker as she constantly asked questions about the right way to make the proper decision. Howard told Annie Duke to head out to Sin City and compete in the WSOP tournaments. She is one of the strongest women players the poker arena today. He moved to Vegas in 1993 and participated in cash games for the successive decade. When the WPT gained popularity, Howard made the decision to compete in more tournaments.
