Internet High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Posted in Poker on 12/17/2025 02:25 pm by NolanGus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to make it to the last poker table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may recall one of the largest pots in big stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a big pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest players around the world. While betting on internet poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. Gus often participates in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus frequently buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then goes all-in. I know Hansen is a great poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is flat broke, he has little or no reason to settle at the table with the minimum buy in.
Buying in for the minimum takes a majority of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Hansen is accepted to be 1 of the best players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the total amount. I think tv can alter our view of the real world at times. The greatest players anywhere in the world could be guys you have will not have heard about. Gus can be seen playing net poker on Full Tilt. He commonly competes in high stakes omaha high and texas hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he use his talents in money rounds?
